Please, make your Athens Georgia area home search easier on yourself!

Image of a frustrate lady, why stress yourself out? Search the MLS!  Today I answered my phone around 7 pm, actually I TRY to answer my phone at all reasonable hours unless I'm showing houses to a client or in a closing!  The young lady said something along the lines of "I'm planning to buy my first home and would like some more information on the house for sale  in East Athens for $_________".

The first thing out of my mouth was "You don't sound very excited about buying your first home!".

OUCH, that really could have been interpreted wrong, but you had to hear the tone of her voice - she sounded worn out.

After a few minutes of talking about why she sounded unhappy, I found out she had been shopping the Homes & Land book, calling likely house suspects and getting no answers, "sorry it's under contract already", etc. from many agents in town.  Why do you want to torture yourself is what I think every time I hear this conversation, which happens at least once a day.

I get that you, the potential consumer, want to remain somewhat anonymous - that's why I have a link to the public side of the multiple listing service on the right hand side of this blog - see the link that says "Search Athens Area real estate" - no commitment, guys!  If you want more specific info, just email me - I promise, you don't have to call me and I won't call you unless YOU are ready to talk to an Athens Georgia real estate broker who is happy to be of service.

I can search by a more defined way than you can, but at least this gives you a good, anonymous way to start your search.  I was able narrow her search and send what I hope are some great candidates for her first home!

The anonymity people look for is understandable. Can you count the number of times we're sold something from the moment we exit the door to the moment we get back home in the evening?

Then that's why blogs are great! If I'm the consumer, I can chat with you through your Meebo and remain anonymous...I can search the mls through your site and give you my email with no number.

No hard sells, just good information until I'm good and ready.

I completely understand, and that's why I don't require registration to use the search.  I think forcing anyone to register to be able to view the information is just wrong!

I think my favorite thing about bloggins is that a potential client can get to know me without having to commit until they are comfortable.

      Thanks for stopping by!
