Jackson County Georgia - 10th Fastest Growing County in the Nation!

Fastest Growing Counties in the NationJust north of Athens, Georgia is Jackson County, the 10th fastest growing county in the nation, according to recently released census tract reports.  Jackson County gained approximately 3700 residents in 2007, according to the reports.  Much of the growth in Jackson County can be attributed to its convenience to I-85, a popular  traffic corridor which runs into the Atlanta, Georgia area.

Barrow County, Athens Georgia's neighbor to the southwest  placed number 12 on the fastest growing counties list.

Both Barrow County and Jackson County serve as bedroom communities for nearby Athens, Georgia (home of the University of Georgia) and Atlanta, Georgia.  Although real estate sales have slowed to some degree, activity is still considered stable in the overall market areas.

Many folks are still finding that Georgia is a great place to live, in fact 5 of the top 15 fastest growing counties are located in Georgia.  Read more details at Main Street News and The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
