Athens Chamber Singers' Musical Yuletide Dinners "recognized for the quality of its musical performances, the diversity of its repertoire and the popularity of its Yuletide dinners" held at Trumps at the Georgian in Athens, Georgia on 12/6/2007 through 12/8/2007. Reservations are required, call 706-542-2712. Per person cost of $38.50.
The Georgia Museum of Art in Athens, GA has several special family and children activites planned including "Family Day" on 12/8/2007 from 10am until noon. "Children are invited to learn about the exhibition "Amazing Grace" and then do an art activity in the classroom." Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

This weekend also features one of my favorites, Athens Symphony Christmas Concerts at The Classic Center Saturday, December 8th, 2007 at 8:00 P.M. and Sunday, December 9th, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. There is no admission cost, but you will need tickets.
Athens Clarke County Leisure Services has several great activites planned including the Elves Workshop at Sandy Creek Park let your young ones create some great Holiday gifts while you spend the afternoon shopping OR relaxing! For children ages 5 - 12 years. Pre-registration is required by calling 706-613-3631. "Games and activities, as well, while parents take the afternoon to get ready for the big weekend!" Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. COST: $8 ACC residents/per child and $10 for non-ACC residents/per child. Madison County's 22nd Annual Luminarias and Live Nativity this community tradition featuring luminarias at approximatley 200 homes a on ten mile route of country roads. Live nativity, carolers and other Christmas scenes throughout the drive. Weather permits. This December 8th and 9th Oak Grove S/D off Highay 129 (Jefferson road)will have its 2nd Annual Holiday Lights Event. Every year the residents decorate their homes in a “Classic Christmas” theme. Luminaries will be placed throughout the community on Saturday and Sunday evening. Visitors are welcome to stop by and view the wonderful decorations.
