Spread the love!  Bike Athens begins its fifth annual Holiday Bikes for Kids program on Thanksgiving.  They are asking for donations of gently used bicycles and volunteers to help clean, repair and restore bikes to give to low-income children.  The BikeAthens workshop at 149 Oneta St., studio 6c5, will accept donations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving, and 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays and 2-4 p.m. Sundays until Dec. 21.

WUGA, radio 97.9 fm will broadcast two Thanksgiving Specials on Thursday 11/22/2007:

• Anonymous 4 Thanksgiving Special  - Thursday, November 22, 2:00 p.m. "Known for their a capella versions of medieval music, but for this special Thanksgiving program their attention is focused on a distinct American sound. From lyric folk ballads like "Wayfaring Stranger" and revival songs like "I Shall Be Satisfied" to gospel favorites like "Sweet By and By", this program reveals a different side of these singers."
• Giving Thanks: A Celebration of Fall, Food and Gratitude - Thursday, November 22, 3:00 p.m. "Giving Thanks brings classical music and stories together in a thoughtful, contemporary reflection on the meaning of the holiday."

If you are not too full of turkey, Athens Holiday Lights begins on Thurday, November 22 at Sandy Creek Park - "A choreographed fantasy of color and design awaits visitors as they drive through illuminated snowmen, animated trains, giant teddy bears, and more."  TIME: 6p.m. - 9:30 p.m. COST: $10 per car/van Fri.-Sun., $7 per car/van Mon.-Thur. Bus/ motorcoach rates to be determined.
