Colbert, Georgia Fantastic 4th of July Parade and Festival
Colbert, Georgia in Madison County was the place to be at 9am this 4th of July! Over 10,000 people were expected to be at the 4th of July parade and festival and I think at least that many showed up! The parade time was moved from 10am to 9am this year due to the heat and everyone got the word. Highway 72, East was closed for the duration of the parade through Colbert as everyone lined the streets to see classic cars, septic tank trucks, horses and more! The parade was huge this year!
Colbert, GA Mayor, John Waggoner, says volunteers to coordinate this festival are getting harder to find so we hope folks keep stepping up as this is a local favorite!
The craft festival was fantastic, as always and featured plenty of pocket books, handmade clay and wood flowers, jewelry, and many more unique items. Food vendors were on hand with the requisite BBQ, Homemade Lemonade, Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Corndogs and even Thai Food this year!
